Once the clocks change my horses come in around 2 ( my lunchtime) as I work til 5 and it would be dark by the time I got there. No more hour lunches with nothing to do!! Winter has arrived

I suppose at least it will mean lighter mornings for a week or two....
Sad times. Mine stay out 90% of winter, thankfully., but everything is done in the pitch black AM already and soon it will be all dark all the time.
Nothing quite like creeping through a herd of 30 horses with a torch to change a rug lol.
It feels like winter has been here for a month already it's been so wet.Once the clocks change my horses come in around 2 ( my lunchtime) as I work til 5 and it would be dark by the time I got there. No more hour lunches with nothing to do!! Winter has arrived![]()
I also take my lunch break at 2 to bring in during winter so I’ll think of youOnce the clocks change my horses come in around 2 ( my lunchtime) as I work til 5 and it would be dark by the time I got there. No more hour lunches with nothing to do!! Winter has arrived![]()
And me. Only see them in daylight at the weekends, so do a lot of moaning about poo picking my head torch!Mine are out 24:7 so I get used to managing in the dark. I moan a lot though!
Unfortunately not. I have one that hates the field in winter and would kill himself if he thought he would be left out after dark!!Could you not use a headtorch and bring them in after work? That's what I do, saves me on bedding/hay and gives them a few extra hours leg stretching.
