Had one do this years ago, was operated on and came right for hacking only.

Anyone ever just done conservative measures and had success at least as a pain free field ornament?
Tear comes from inside rather than outside. Cannot operate due to other issues.
Thoughts, experiences?

I'm reasonably sure this was what a friend's horse had, it was definitely some kind of stifle meniscus tear and she was told that PTS would not be a completely unreasonable thing to do. The horse was turned away for a year, came back sound (he swung the leg strangely to start with) and he show jumped at around 90cm BS. I last heard of him going strong 11 years on.

Thank you, this is combined with arthritic stifle changes (currently mild) too.
Vet pragmatic, def cant inject steroid either.
Box rest an issue as stifle starting to lock up, so going to be in at night and out at day in small area to potter in.

Updating in case this pops up in a search.
Pony was small paddocked with large field shelter in, for 4 weeks on full meds, then allowed to join friend for a few increasing hours in daytime.
Came off meds end January and went off with friend for full daytime turnout and back in small paddock at night.
Regime still same, pony is now sound with level pelvis and tracking up, tho due to mild arthritis in stifles is a little stiff but again, equal.
Now just to be alert for laminitis....
