LATEST ON ADDINGTON !!!!!!!!!grrrrrrrhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

Have to say that I haven't come across the rudeness yet, as I only really deal with Liz, who books writers and judges and she is truely lovely.

Still, not on to behave the way they have towards you FStyler.

Thanks FMC, it just seems to be down to the staff who deal with the public then that are causing issues of discontentment. As has been said the stable Mangement was great, restaurant great, ladies who saw you into the area great... but if you should call and speak to them........shock to your system!! AND if you should query anything on the day.....death sentence to you!!!!!!!!

It may now seem a boring post and because I have got it off my chest something which I should just put down to experience.....but I cant!!! SO will keep on until I hear from Addington with an explanation!!!!! Sorry!!!!

I went to the regionals there last winter and have voted with my feet and never competed there since, I found their attitude towards the competitors disgraceful. I have only ever been back once and that was recently to a training seminar.

How do BSJA folk get on, or are they just like it to dressage people?

Good for you freestyler, it's about time that they had some honest press rather than all the credit Pammy Hutton and such like give them just because Addington suck up to them (not Pammy's fault I must add but she doesn't see it from the 'little peoples' view point).

Apparenly BSJA folk are treated the same too!!!

What happened to you at the Regionals to put you off????? Just need to ascertain if it is the same problem occuring again and again.......if so, and they have received complaints why are they not trying to rectify it?? Surely it is in their best interest to keep clients coming and aim to encourage more?? I would be interested to hear from people who actually work there and their feelings on same.

No it wasn't the same issue as you're having, I would have kicked up a real fuss if it was.

I was told to arrive the night before between 5 -6 pm, which I duly did only to discover all the lights went out at 6.00 pm and could NOT be put back on, try finding you're way round a wet muddy lorry park, stable yard where you didn't know where you were going and sort your horse out, not to mention using the ladies

Then in the morning I was first to go (or second can't quite remember) at 8.00 I think it was, they wouldn't let me in the warm up until 7.30 and then half way through my test starting bleating over the speaker (very loud) welcoming every one to the venue, thankfully you could land a helicopter in the arena with my horse and he wouldn't spook (how lucky am I
grin.gif
) but imagine if that had been a spooky horse, it was a bit like Robbie Williams "Good morning Vietnam". The whole attitude of the office staff is shocking.

I must say though the car parks lads were brilliant, lending me torches and helping me carry stuff up to the stables, so credit there.

Lights out at 6pm...it sounds like the war!!! I understand you cannot have all the lights on but surely floodlights ? The College had their lights on, as did Patchetts... is this not dangerous? At least have lights until 10pm, some people have to travel miles and cannot make it until late at night...as long as you tell the stable manager normally they are quite understanding......Tut!!!

Would not let you into the warm up? Now that is bad form...many horses need a little more than 30 mins.. 7.30am is mid morning for a class to start at 8am!! Many people are up and doing at 5-6am......dont they know that??!!

Robbie Williams ........LOL!!!!!!

Well I was considering starting to compete at Addington, but after reading this, and a past experience over an unaffiliated event I will vote with my feet and stay at the good venues such as the College, where I have to agree, Patsy and all the staff are fabulous, as well as Manor farm in Cambridgeshire..... also very nice people.

I enquired about entering an unaff test which was for their qualifier.... Sent an email, where it stated that they would reply within 24 hours and never heard a thing and whenever I rang, the appropriate person was never available....

Well, I think that the e-mail should not be on their site... they did tell me that most e-mails are deleted as spam?? ummm..maybe they need to get a new spam programme!!! Also another lady told me that they do not reply to their e-mails!! Funny eh, as as you have stated they say that they will return your e-mail enquiries within 24hours.......again I made this comment to them and asked why they have an e-mail?? No comment was made on this. Do they not realise they are missing out on business?? If they are short on staff I am quite happy for them to re-direct their e-mails to me and I will sort them out!!

When I asked when the appropriate person would be available I was told that "we have to have a day off you know, we work at weekends", fair enough I said and quite rightly too.. but when would that person be available, I was told about 9am on Monday and when I asked until when, they were quite shirty, but said about 5pm.

So, I shall call again on Monday between the hours of 9am and 5pm telephone them to see if they received my fax, or rather faxes, as I sent the same one about 10 times... just in case the dog ate the first one, or some other lame excuse they may come up with!!! I also sent it in the post too 1st class.....

yes the BSJA are treated the same - unless you are a "known" name.

tis why i have only jumped at addington once in the last 18 months - and only because i HAD to try and get a double clear.

i hate the arrogance of the place.

Keysoe is so much nicer......

Have replied on your BD post

Addington is a lovely venue BUT they are so RUDE, for that alone I have stopped going there if I can possibly help it. What they have done to you is unforgiveable and I would like to say I was surprised that they actually laughed at you but sadly cannot.

Mr P himself is one of the rudest people I have ever met but at least he is consistantly rude to everyone, I cannot think of one person who has ever had a good word to say about him and I feel for his wife

Its a shame because his Dad was a lovely person.

They lost the Luso show to Keysoe last year (I love Keysoe

) and if they carry on they are set to lose a lot more.

Incidentally, there is a new venue at Bury Farm EC in Slapton, not a million miles away from Addington, they are already running unaff and are planning affiliated too - may be worth watching out for.

Thanks SirenaXVI. I have not met Mr P but have heard all about his attiude!!

My friend actually reminded of another event today, which I had totally forgotton about!!!

Addington Amateur Champs for Dressage....we were calling for our times at the appropriate given time, to be told that they had not "done them yet" and we would have to call back after 3pm....given that the event was the next day........so when I called back at 3pm and asked for my times.....guess what......had to call back again...!!Did anyone else get their times late for this event?

So what makes you not like it then Vicki_krystal? Were they rude to you too??????

[/ QUOTE ]

yes very.

if your not a known name they look down their noses at you, talk to you like you are a child and are just generally really unhelpful.

Well, your results today show that you should be a "known name"!!! ........who cares if you are known or not.....everybody should be treated the same. End of!!
