It is not getting through is it?

Hunting is not banned. In the hunting act ceratin restrictions are prescribed. Hunting of some animals can carry on as always.

And I am not intending going to prison. I think it is highly unlikely don't you?

Glad you have come back to earth.

But you weren't on about any old hunting, you were commenting on deer hunting.

Go read the Hunting Act again, especially the bits to do with deer hunting.

"Hunting is not banned. In the hunting act ceratin restrictions are prescribed. Hunting of some animals can carry on as always."

Fox hunting, deer hunting, hare hunting & mink hunting (all the main focus of the legislation) are banned.

I refer you to the recent judgement of District Judge Parsons:

"...hunting typically involves the chasing of a wild animals with hounds...Parliament clearly did not wish to exempt hunting that involved the chase of the quarry...A chase is incompatible with the policy objectives of the Act."

The fact there are some exemptions in the Act doesn't prevent hunting from being banned.

"And I am not intending going to prison."

Glad to hear it.

You mean he has clarified it by saying ......

"...hunting typically involves the chasing of a wild animals with hounds...Parliament clearly did not wish to exempt hunting that involved the chase of the quarry...A chase is incompatible with the policy objectives of the Act."

How far are the tufters allowed to flush ?

The tufters can flush deer out from cover but as soon as they chase the deer, the hunt is breaking the law. Flushing out isn't the same as chasing.

The Staghounds have helpfully agreed to appeal, and that should help establish a very useful legal precedent.

Until that happens, Judge Parsons' comments are the best we've got - certainly better than your armchair pearls of wisdom

"Until that happens, Judge Parsons' comments are the best we've got "

.... even though they are, in part, contradictory to District Judge Farmer's?

Pearls of wisdom? Yes indeed, Grasshopper. Listen and learn.

But 'armchair' as an adjective is a bit rich coming from a desk-bound anti, such as yourself.

I'm proud never to have gone stag hunting, Faggot. You see, unlike you I'm not from the school of thought which says you must have taken part in Nazi atrocities in order to be able to know the gassing of the Jews was wrong.

I am glad you are proud. Do you feel yourself to be ignorant of the subject?

Are you a bit homophobic Karl.

You seem to be keen on the word "faggot". I have to tell you that we find it offensive. And probably breaks forum guidelines !

"You see, unlike you I'm not from the school of thought which says you must have taken part in Nazi atrocities in order to be able to know the gassing of the Jews was wrong. "

I am from no school of thought Karl. I am not a philosopher. Your comment is about as relevant as your Roe deer comment.

Nazi's and Jews.
Turks and Armenians
cromwell in Ireland.

All completely irrelevant Karl.

But I guess the Nazi's banned hunting.

Nice effort Karl.

Karl. have you ever fought against fascism?

Really? By your homophobic language and your description of hunting people as untermenschen, it almost sounds as if you did.

What has stag hunting got to do with the Nazis? If you think there is any moral equivalence between the two, then you are seriously deranged.

"It'll all come out in the wash, thanks to the helpful appeals."

Maybe it will, maybe it won't. Since any appeal could go all the way to the House of Lords, and beyond to the European courts, any final legal resolution could be years away from now. The repeal of the Hunting Act could come before then.
