Why did Clive Smith take his horse off her? I don't follow eventing except for the big stuff so it may be that this is old news, but I always wonder why owners change producers, especially if they do it more than once. (Not that he has, that I know of!).

Clive Smith is not a traditional event horse owner and is only interested in the exposure the horse would give him . Some would say they deserved each other! They only got involved because of KS and look at how that worked out.

She is still competing and has some useful youngsters. It was a mistake getting involved with CS in the first place IMO.

I wonder if there is any elbowing in getting another riders horse.

You have to wonder! I know with some it makes sense, Chilli Morning springs to mind (not that Nick Gauntlett had been anything but fabulous with him, but when he went from MK to WFP).

MK gave up Chilli because he was too strong for her, her decision & afaik she was very happy for him to go to WFP

That was what I meant. No 'elbowing'.

Not like you to be like that - you get most cross if I do bitchy! (Now we sound like an old married couple, we aren't!). :-)

Im sure you have similar views ?

Anyhow getting back to the subject matter it happens all the time! I have been approached twice by high end riders and I was shocked by what they would do.

So are riders payed by the owners or are the riders hoping by taking on a potential tophorse , the horse will eventually pays itself.
