Just heard that the fantastic and inspirational Dressage rider Laura Fry, owner of Fry's Dressage in Aike, East Yorkshire, has passed away.

I wanted to say that she was a truly fantastic horse woman and helped teach so many people the ways of classical dressage from tots to oldies and was a large part of the BD circle in Yorkshire.

Thoughts go to the family and close friends of such a wonderful lady.

Rest in peace. And may her legacy live on.

How very sad. She can't have been of any age, had she been ill? Sincere condolences to her family, friends and connections. xx

Yes from what i know, cancer for a while, and yes young. Condolences to family and especially her daughter, Lottie, who went to the school i used to go to.

Very sad indeed. I didn't know Laura personally but I watched her warm up and compete many times at competitions. I always remember how she used to take her stirrups away in the warm up to constantly develop her seat.

Condolances to her family, staff and horses who will all miss her greatly- as will the dressage world and wider equestrian community.

I attended one of Laura's clinics and my nerves really got the better of me. Laura was so kind, telling me that my pony was 'very naughty' but showing great patience with us both. She will be missed :(

Very sad news.. such a shock for everyone.. She was a very inspirational woman and she will be dearly missed by everyone in the equestrian world.. I will never forget the time i worked for her... the lessons i had with her was amazing.. R.I.P Laura xxxxxx :( :(

Laura suffered from breast cancer for the last few years. She developed bone cancer last year. Never being one to say never she contiued to ride when she felt well enough. However just over a month gao she fell from a horse and broke her hip. She remained in Castlhill hospital until her death yesterday. She was a highly thought of individual and extremely respected. I saw her a few weeks ago and had a lovely hug and chat. Bless her...so very sad. Simon and Lottie have my heart felt condolances.
