I'm in floods of tears watching her interview with Jill Douglas.

How fantastic is she! Brilliant athlete, so dedicated, surprised with her success and so very young. She's only 24 - at 24, the closest I was to a medal or olympic event was pub golf and chocolate coins at Christmas (that's still true, even now I'm slightly older!)

Totally bloody brilliant.

I'm still a bit teary now. :redface3:

The omnium (or, ominumunnnum if you're like me and can't pronounce it) is just brutal - it's so unlike the other events, it's mindblowing how athletes can put up with the stress of those six races. Totally in awe.

She is incredible! Super human. I think she is my favourite athlete of the games. So tiny but so unbelievably strong. Just amazing. Stayed up (later than 9pm is late for me) both nights to watch her.

Not the only one who says omiunumumum!

We really do rather well at the sitting down sports don't we? Haha. One medal behind China now which is incredible.

I was shouting at the TV for her last 5 laps "just stay upright". Just bagged another silver and bronze. All the cyclists have been outstanding and the gymnasts have exceeded expectations as well.

Think the commentary team for the cycling have been superb as well, although it's fair to say I have a massive crush on Chris Hoy!!

me too! I always remember the opening ceremony at London. All the other flag bearers with the flag in the wee holder-Hoy brandishing it one handed :D

Think the cycling team are phenomenal,

I loved the bit where they talked about her meeting Bradley Wiggins when she was 12 then showed the pic. Must be quite strange to be on the same team as him now!

Think cycling has also benefited from lots of funding, and now will only get more probably.

I have just looked up funding, and cycling has had massive amounts pumped into it, however so have a lot of other sports.

I'm not saying it's undeserved, just that success is a numbers game, more money, more experts and more facilities should lead to greater success. Hopefully some lesser funded sports might do better after this olympics.

I also our improved diving success is basically put down to Daley being such an ambassador for the sport

The cycling has just been amazing! Every single one of the team went home with a medal which is just incredible - we have some great great athletes out there. Laura Trott just blew the competition away in the omnium, even in the events they were saying she was weak at she ended up winning! She was so much faster than everyone else she could just sprint round them if needed.

Gymnasts have also been amazing we were only predicted 4 medals I think and we got 7! Brilliant.

And the 3m springboard diver - gold and a silver! No one even expected a medal from him

I read today that this is our most successful overseas Olympics ever (50 medals at the moment with one guaranteed today in the sailing and definitely more opportunities to come!). We got 65 medals in London in total (29 golds, 17 silvers and 19 bronzes) and we could be on the verge of that success again by the end. :)

Shame about some of the equestrian events but it's amazing to see us sitting in 2nd on the medal table. I'm sure China will overtake us by the end but we've fended them off for a few days now! Impressive for a 'small' nation.
