Layering a horses tail

New chunky horse on the yard has a layered tail. I assume cut that way, unless some grow like that?

It's got a fair wave to it and looks really good whilst making it more manageable.

Is this a thing? I've tried googling but just get instructions on layering a fake tail.

I have a hw cob and she struggles to lift her tail to poo. Her hair grows all around the dock, so I clip the underside and a strip either side then use thinning scissors at random (tried one of those rakes but did nothing) . It's still huge. I do like the hairy look but would like to make it lighter.

Not sure what you mean by a layered tail, can you post a photo?

I would imagine she has just razor cut it or feathered cut it as you would to layer a humans hair

Is it a Welsh Section D? They traditionally have their tail plumed. I used to do my mares using scissors to layer the outside x
