Can a mares first season of the year make them tired afterwards? My forwards Welsh had her first season the other week, she’s usually a little sensitive for her first and last one of the year but other than that she doesn’t really have any other symptoms.

The last 5 days she’s been quite lazy and sleepy, ridden and in the field. She’s quite naughty if somethings bugging her and good at making it known but has been completely fine other than seeming a bit sleepy so don’t think there’s anything wrong. Once she’s warmed up goes back to her chirpy forwards self

Not sure if maybe a season thing or she’s on restricted grazing now or maybe temperature change? Anyone else’s horse a tad sleepy these days?

My aggressive Shetland is raging in season, she's now all sweetness and light even to being cuddled by other people, not usually a safe thing to do! When she's not outrageously chatting up the geldings she's asleep! She totally cocked up her agility competition because she just couldn't be bothered.

Seemed completely back to herself today must of known I made a post 😂

Too full of grass!

Big possibility she’s on very restricted grazing worked 5/6 days a week and still could lose a few, natives in spring/summer are so difficult 😡
