Pony goes lovely and forward when out on her own- hacking, schooling, jumping, always working nicely and really listens to my leg, however, when hacking out with others she hates going in the front, and is like a riding school pony at the back- half asleep and can't get her to do anything. Making her go in front is a battle and when she is she crawls along so slowly, and i find myself either constantly nagging her to go more forwards or she's very nappy and just stops. This is the same when jumping which she usually loves or schooling when other horses are around, and i find myself having to work so much harder, and dont feel like were getting anywhere
I havent been to many shows, apart from one XC which i did pairs which wasn't a problem as we were in the back. I would like to so a dressage one in a few weeks but i know the venue and as there will be other horses around im worried she'll nap towards them and wont go forwards at all
Also when i last had a group lesson she was so lazy to my leg i could hardly get her to do anything
threfore didnt get much out of the lesson apart from looking like an awful rider having to give many pony club kicks to even get her to walk away from the others
Any ideas as to what i could do to get her to leave other horses easier and concentrate on me not them?!
