I have just brought my youngster back into work after turning him away from being backed. He is hacking out nicely on his own and in company. He is doing basic schooling of walk trot halt circles loops etc t get him used to the general aids. Out hacking he is fine and schooling in the field he is also good. my issue is when ridding him back up t the yard from field and when in the arena he is so lazy. will not go of leg, have smacked him a few times with schooling whip and even tried small spurs on him, but nothing works. Other experienced people and a couple of instructors are also baffled at what else to try. dies anyone have any suggestions?
