Ldv chassis on 3.5 T horsebox

Just wondering if anyone has had experience of an LDV chassis and if you could tell me your thoughts and whether they are safe/reliable?

Thanks
Simalar to the transit, they are fairly tall and a little top heavy being rear wheel drive,
not ideal but guess its a lot cheaper than a renault!!!, I would think it would be fine for
ponys but doutfull for carrying a bigger horse, just check what the unladen weight is ...

I have an LDV 3.5 ton and love it however depending on what you want to travel they are heavier than ford transits. My payload is under a tonne which is fine as i only carry my chunk of a cob in it:)

I have an old one (L reg) very happy with it. It's not the fastest but is in very good condition and very reliable.

I only travel my 14.2hh Welsh D usually though - it wouldn't be suitable for horses as mine is herringbone. I chose it as has much less steep ramp than the transits which I preferred.

Mine will take 1x15hh ish chunky cob or 2x14.2hh ponies (just). I think it might be too tight for 1x15hh and 1x14.2hh (and poss overweight). Mine is a bit too narrow to take any bigger, as I need them on a steeper angle in order to get the length on, but they do vary.

Mine was a bargain at £1800 (ebay) and as I only have 1 it suits me for now, but it is a pony/cob box and definitely not a horse dimensions lorry. Lovely low ramp though!

I have a pic of mine here
