I know this isn't related to competing or training, but wondered if anybody had used either of these for cooling legs after exercise or competition?
I'm looking at getting a pair of ice boots for my old girl who has recently damaged her SDFT. The vet has advised me against cold hosing as she has typical cobby, wrinkly, itchy legs and he was concerned about her developing a fungal infection as a result.
I've found these on the Horse Health website, and like the sound of both, but just wondered if anybody had used them before I make my mind up on which ones to order.

Have used ColdOnes but not Lemieux. Love, love the ColdOnes :). We use them on the eventers and have definitely found them the best for cooling legs down after xc. I keep mine in a freezer in the garage and take them out on the day and pop them in some cold water just before we go XC and find they have softened enough by the time we get back. We have tried many other brands over the years, including the ones that you put crushed ice into pockets and the more traditional "cold boots" but we think ColdOnes are definitely the best at cooling legs down (and add a bit of compression too). The only ones we haven't tried are the ice vibe boots which friends rave about but we haven't found the need to change. Good luck with SDFT.

Thank you almostthere. I was leaning towards the ColdOnes anyway. The price of the Ice Vibe boots was enough to put me off them! I want whats going to work best for my mare, but she is a 24 year old happy hacker and my priority is to get her comfortable and field sound. If the SDFT doesn't heal well enough for her to be ridden again, then so be it.

I havent used the Lemieux boots, so i cant comment on them, but i do have the ColdOnes, and I think they are brilliant. I keep them in the freezer and use them daily, I find them effective, easy to use, and long lasting, so good value. The only thing that I've found to be better are the Ice Vibe boots, but obviously they come with a much higher price tag!
