I wonderr if the "Le" may be putting anyone off, they are just "Strada". I think some people love them, find them close contact in feel, and perhaps benefit from the wide range of trees, I do know others where the horse has hated the feel of the panel - they need to be warm to be soft, but if your horse doesn't like the hard feel, you may not get a chance to let it warm up! The panel is not very deep either, even the deeper models, so I THINK they are less successful on high withered shapes.
Many thanks our physio as recommended them as she said our saddle doesnt fit our horse very well as she has no withers, which i am concerned about as it was fitted by a master saddler not more than six months ago.
I had a similar problem. very common. had a perfectly good saddle that never gave my pony any problems. about a year ago I was told it did not fit and yard saddler sold me one of his. a year on and my pony has had all sorts of back issues. moving on to a Strada saddle which fits like a glove.
I have two of them, a jumping and a dressage. Wouldnt ride in anything else now. They're really comfortable and secure. Have been riding my horse with Strada saddles for a good 6 years now and my horse has never needed any work done on his back or his saddle.
I've also used both saddles on allsorts of other horses (who they wernt fitted for) with great success.
I also have two a jumping and a dressage - I know they mainly specalisise in dressage but I do everything in my jumping one (XC/fun rides etc) - my horse is quite wide with a bit of wither and big shoulders so the flexi tree and the memory foam means there is no impingement with his movement.
They are brilliant, I tried a WOW (he hated the feel) and various other saddles prior to trying one and would never go back!!
Yes the memory foam is a bit hard in winter prior to warming up, but I just put a hot water bottle on it for a few mins in baltic circumstances but otherwise if he stands in it for a short amount of time it warms up anyway nice and gooey and soft!
Give Ilga a call from Strada, she is incredibly knowledgeable
Hi i have a Strada dressage saddle- my horse loves his saddle which fits like a glove. Highly recommended. The numnah is also designed by Strada which has sticky pads which ensure both numnah and saddle remain together. My saddle doesnt move an inch - back forward or side to side. It stays exactly where it is meant to be because it is a correct fit for the whole of his back - not just the wither. I have the girth too which is fantastic quality and my horse is comfortable within. BUY one !
Ilga is great. really takes her time with the horse and you. The saddles are great quality and the customer services is excellent.
Go on Strada's Forum, that's where most second hand ones can be found.
I had to sell mine as my horse changed shape too much and I have to say that in my experience they have the best resale value
In cold weather just saddle your horse up 15mins before you want to ride and the panels will have softened up enough.
Definitely a thumbs up from me
