Just wondered if anyone on here does Trec in the Kent area?

I want to give it a go this year and have no idea where to start. It would be great to tag along with someone who knows what they are doing!!

I’ve only done one Le Trec, an unaffiliated one with the Hadlow Riding Club, but really enjoyed it (we came 4th). I would like to have a go again, so if you find out anything let me know, we could have a little team maybe?

Well if you find out anything PM me, I know there was a big Le Trec Competition at Chilham Castle this year but think it was affiliated. I’m sure you and your boy would do great!!!

OK - I found this. Its the south east section but most training sessions etc seem to be in essex.

I'm going to email for info about the ones in Feb.

Contact the BHS/Riding Clubs office as there was a BHS chap at one of our RC Shows who wanted to rally Clubs in Area 10 to hold more Trec competitions.

I did one once a few years back. Got lost in the first 10mins of the Orienteering phase. Useless!!

I'd love to do Trec - but I don't think my horse or me are up to it just yet. I'm still very much a learner and my horse needs to get fitter.

My orienteering skills are pretty good though

There's no such thing as affiliated Trec. As long as they are running a level 1 competiton (I'd start with this level), you can enter if you are a BHS, or BHS Riding club member.

I did a Trec last year and really enjoyed it. You can't get eliminated unless you give up on the orienteering so no chance of embarressing cockups. My advice yould be to get hold of the 2010 rule book when it comes out because it describes all of the phases\obstacles and how to ride them.
