I would like to do Le Trec with my horse but do not want to do it alone. I was wondering if there are any Le Trec people in or around the Market Harborough /welland Vally area that maybe I could do it with.

have a look on central trec group web site

http://www.trecgroup.co.uk/

they are holding a fun ride with TREC obstacles saturday , dont think its that far from you , details are on the web site

TREC people tend to be spread out plus you have to be prepard to travel quite far for comps

there is a winter series which is just the control of paces and the PTV (obstacles) this is usually a great starting place for trec
details for winter series

central trec group and white horse trec group both have pages on facebook as well :)

I really fancy having a go at this as well. Unfortunately not near Market Harborough although central would be my local group. Madam needs to mature a bit first - at the moment she'd just full Friesian alert at every obstacle.

Boo, wish you were in Scotland :( hope you find someone, it looks such good fun!

I'm in Scotland :D. Have you got the info on the Kelly Marks Winter series? Some in Sandyflats in Maryhill and some in Muirmill? In Ayrshire.

Hope you find someone to go with you, OP - have you looked for a local LeTrec facebook group or tried the LeTrec forum?

Yes I did, was thinking of going along minus Deano the first time just to see what its all about.

They're very nice people:) I went along to Sandyflats with my "never been in an indoor school" horse, and they let me take him in and lead him round before the competition started, and nobody laughed when I knocked the low branches off with my bum causing my horse to do several uncalled for laps of honour at high speed (despite the fact that he'd earlier said that he couldn't canter in an indoor full of scary obstacles :D).

Everybody is very friendly - and I will definitely be there this year if I can manage to keep the big brown hairy beast sound and with a properly fitting saddle for more than two weeks together ;)

BTW I think we came last both times we went to Sandyflats... and we are usually last in when doing the full on LeTrec with POR unless I'm with my gallopy friend who just laughs while I'm wibbling at going fast downhill. But I've had an absolute blast at every single one, it is my absolute favourite horse outing :D
