I am taking my yearling to his first show and i am wondering whether to lead him from the bit or not,i don't really want to. Sure someone posted about some sort of attachment or something? Any help much appreciated.

The leather 3 way coupling is probably the best bet as you can alter the pressure depending on whether you want more on the nose or more on the bit. It's very quick to change as well so in a show situation if you suddenly feel that you do need a little more control you can take the bit parts up a hole.

I think Derby House do a fairly reasonable one x

imo, yearlings should be led from the noseband.
i don't like to see horses so young led from the bit in case they spook or pull back etc and scare themselves silly with the bit.

My yearling had a bit in at just before a year, she is big and strong and I felt I needed a bit more than just noseband pressure. I made my own arrangement - a rounding from bit ring to bit ring, I also put a brass ring on the back of the noseband and then put a chain coupling through the noseband ring and through the rounding. The effect of this was most pressure on the noseband but bit coming into play if needed.

It worked like a dream. I was worried too about pulling her mouth but she was actually very well behaved and it was fine.
