Lead rein ponies like gold dust???

We have one who we outgrew some time ago. when I wanted to loan her out recently I advertised her via Facebook. Was inundated and she went to the someone I knew, who I didn't know was looking.

Edit - her loan home before this one was through friend of a friend.

So I guess keep putting the word around. Good luck.

I'm wondering whether getting a youngster and getting it started maybe my only option a really struggling to find anything older

Dont totally ignore younger ponies. We ended up with a 4yo Dartmoor for my just turned-4yr old son. She's brilliant, she's a bit green obivously but her temperament is fantastic which IMO is the most important thing. She has not put a foot wrong since we got her in January, I take my son down the road on her no problem and he's done x-poles on her at events as well as being decked out in fancy dress recently. So I personally wouldnt assume an older pony is the only type to be looking for.

Ditto the slightly younger ponies. I have just bought a Sec A, 7 yo that was advertised on Facebook and I'm absolutely delighted with him. He is great on or off the lead rein and canters and jumps with the more capable jockeys but looks after the wobbly ones too - a real find and he wasn't expensive :)
