Leadropes getting thinner.

Partly because I could no longer tie with the nice thick cotton ropes (everywhere I kept them used rings I couldn't put a loop through) I started buying yahting/marine rope and good heavy duty clips and making my own a while back. Meant I can get them as long as I like too, I hate short lead ropes.

I've been thinking of doing this. Do you have a way of finishing off the non-clip end, other than just knotting it?

Since the marine ropes are nylon you can just melt the end to prevent it from fraying. Usually when you buy it both ends will already be melted nicely. I generally get 1/2" to 3/4" diameter.
