My vets have recommended a bone scan at Leahurst to investigate SI issue, that went from minor issue to full on lameness after injecting. I have since had a couple of people comment that they would not use Leahurst for lameness and there is plenty to be read on forums. I'm just wondering what peoples recent experiences have been. Completely stressed out with the whole thing!

You may have no choice unless you are prepared to travel a long way, there are only a very limited number of hospitals that can do a gamma ray scintigragh - a 'bone scan'.

They have a reputation for running the bill up so high on diagnostics that there is nothing left on the insurance for treatment, so I'd make it very clear that all you want is the scan, and take him elsewhere for the rest of the diagnosis/treatment.

Leahurst isn't what it used to be. I would go somewhere else. I live 2 minutes away and used the hospital and equine practice for 30 years but wouldn't take a horse there now.
