Leaking roof - any DIY ways to fix it?

We have the metal sheets as a roof on the stables but where two of the sections join there is a little hole which was letting in a good half a feed bucket of rain just while I mucked out. Unfortunately I can't just leave mysti out while it's being fixed (if it gets fixed :rolleyes:) as shes prone to laminitis so is there anything I can use to even temporarily block the hole and stop it leaking?
 
Whatever you use you will need to let it dry out I think. Then I would pump some sort of external sealant into it. (similar to the stuff you would use in bathrooms but for outside. Builders merchants will be able to supply that) Alternatively cover the roof with roofing felt that you put onto sheds etc. (can't remember the proper name for it)
 
Probably for the least disruption to your horse you could try 'Roofix'. It's an acrylic type mastic with draylon fibres in it which when painted over cracks, holes, joins etc will form a bridge & seal the joint. It's available in various size tins depending on the size of the job you need to do & it's guaranteed for 10 years. You can order it from Ideal World website,it's £11.99p for a litre tin I think.

OP says "a little hole". How about a nut and bolt and a couple of flat washers? Do it up tight, job done. (You can get big flat washers called "repair washers").
 
If your as DIY challenged as me and can get on the roof, hammer a piece of tarp over the hole until you can get someone with the know how to fix it properly! Lol xx
