Now I am sure I didnt have so many questions with the last greyhound I adopted, however....

Islay is still on a lead for walks at the moment as I do not trust her to come back when I call her. I have noticed that she will lean against me when walking all around the route we follow, like a collie walking to heel, which drives me nuts!

Is there a good method for getting her to be 'self supporting' when we walk???

i had one greyhound that never had a lead as he would lean on you the whole time. he was like my 3rd leg so to speak. even when he was not on the lead he still walked very close. i also had two others that i would never let of a lead as they run away and my OH did chase one of them once all along the river bank and ended up having an astham attack.

greyhound finally stopped 6 miles up the river at a pub!!!

I have had Islay about 6 or 7 weeks now and she hasnt come off the lead yet for that very reason....

I am waiting until they cut the haylage at the yard then I will try letting her off there, the field is as far away from roads as I can manage round here, and it is a big field, so I am hoping she will just run big circles (fingers crossed!!!)

LMAO you are so right..... I am sure my last black greyhound didnt moult so prolifically, it is just everywhere at the moment

Why is it that the black greyhound only moults over light coloured clothes, and the chestnut (orange) lurcher only moults over the dark coloured clothes?
