Learning Side Saddle

Hello peeps!

I want to learn how to ride side saddle. Can anyone point me in the right direction? I live near Southend, in Essex, so anyone know of a yard that offers this? I have no side saddle or horse, so would have to be able to hire these also.

Not super-near you, but Contessa Riding Centre in Hertfordshire do sidesaddle taster days. They obviously supply the saddles and the horses! I did one a few years ago and it was such fun. It's nowhere hear as weird as you think it might be and you get used to it remarkably quickly.

They don't have any courses listed on their online calendar but it might be worth giving them a call, if you're interested.

Look on the Side Saddle Association website. They have a list of approved instructors and listing shows what they have available, eg. horses for hire etc.
