I am just wondering are there any centres in the area that teach? I know nothing about driving, but im considering taking on a Shetland x pony as a companion for my old retired mare, but the pony is relatively young so thought that if I learnt to drive, latter on the little pony would have a job to do, rather than just being stuck in a field. Also my Dad has always wanted to have a go, so it would also give him some thing to do in his retirment!

Can't be of help for the area really but try the british driving society: web page they have been a little snooty in my experience but might be able to find somewhere on their web site. Good luck with it and hope you manage to get going, i know it's not v popular on here but i love it. Haven't driven since i was a kid but am planning on breaking my 2 year old dartmoors when they are old enough.
