Had a really freaky and scary accident last night.
Was up my riding stables and finished the lesson.
Led the horse went to lead the horse I was about to untack back into his stable, he rushed into his stable, trapping me between the door and him I managed to just almost keep standing up - then he stopped dead, as he stopped dead somehow I lost my balance and tripped/fell over his foot (he's over 16HH and a shire so big foot!!)
To add even more drama - as I fell I knocked the piece of wood that goes across his door, to stop him going out - flying, it flew through the air, hit me right on the head and THEN hit him....he stood there good as gold, and I ended up face down in his stable as it literally knocked me flying but the sound of the wood hitting my hat was horrible, really thought id cracked my helmet. The piece of wood had quite a big bit of metal going across the head which kind of weighs it down and i guess stops the horses chewing it.
Thank goodness I was wearing my hard hat (and body protector) - they both literally saved me from a nasty injury.
Also was so relieved that horse didn't freak out at the piece of wood hitting him......was so proud of him for just standing there - what a scary night that was!!!
