Hi, I was just wondering what peoples opinions were on leasing horses, whether it is something that they have heard of or known - and whether it is something that people would consider.
I dont really know a lot about it but would love some opinions please.

I believe that the leasing of ponies is quite common. It makes sense if the child has only one year left in a certain age category or is growing rapidly. Show jumping ponies in particular seem to be available to lease. I imagine horses are probably available to lease as well, but I don't recall ever hearing of it.

I think its a great idea to gain experience on a quality competition horse/pony without going through the stresses/costs of purchasing one. For short term definatley cheaper than buying not sure about leasing for really long periods of time how that would work. A lease for a few months then an option to buy is also a good idea to 'test drive'!

Leasing is a great way to get into ponies. Just make sure you have some sort of contract so that you know who is respocible for what if things go wrong.
