Having just shifted 3 heavy full wheelbarrows of rained on poo it has confirmed my opinion poo picking is the absolute worst job!

Not only is it heavy often the poo gets caught in the long grass (which they seem to target not the nice short grass which would make life easier) along with the shovel/ fork so then gets flung everywhere as you try to extract the fork then lugging the wheelbarrow back and forth to the muck heap only to go back the next day and there's a new load to shovel away. Mucking out is better as you're in one place!

muddy rugs :(

i dont have a problem with poo picking as i strip graze so never really in long grass.also they all poo in the same place :)

I love poo picking it is my favourite horse job I hate filling haynets it is rare that I do as they live out 24/7 but I have to to soak the hay in summer. but perhaps the worst job if you have to do it is mucking out a shavings bed I loathe the smell the fact it never looks clean and the time it takes to get them even reasonably tidy. Poo picking is soothing gives a sense of achievement and is satifying in any weather it also gives me much needed time on my own just to watch and think as it is mindless. I also find that the ponies like to help so interact with you

Poo picking definitely.

Did my field today. Barrow almost full, horse walks over, nudges the edge of the barrow and tips the whole thing over, scattering poo back all over long grass  then walks off again.

Start again then shall I?!?

Definitely with you on the poo picking but I've recently farmed that out to my son for £10/week- money very well spent! He's quickly realised that rained on poo is the worst, and if you leave it for two days you've had it!

The other horrible jobs are moving electric fencing, cleaning the water trough and administering wormer...

I thought poo picking as soon as I read the title! I'm pretty convinced my 2 have some sort of food multiplier thingy going on in their tummies - I don't feed enough for them to poo that much! Looks like an elephant has overnighted in my field...

I would normally say poo picking however doing it with a quad and trailer is substantially more fun! Therefore plaiting takes top spot for me... I'd happily bathe all the greys on the yard if it meant someone plaited my horse for me.

Cleaning my tack. It's always the job I leave to last and in recent years have started to strongly dislike it. Not sure why.

Filling haynets. I've started filling Hessian bags instead and feeding from the floor.
Plaiting manes comes a close second, both my horses have wild manes, I'm not good at it in the first place and I hate the grubby residue it leaves on my fingers. Maybe I should wash them more often, haha!

Definitely stacking hay in my shed, always pay the teenager next door to do it for me. It's the only horse related job that I hate.

Sheath cleaning (for obvious reasons!), and spending hours trying to sort out the electric tape that "someone" didn't roll up properly when it was put away!

Definitely poo picking. Takes ages, kills my lower back and hands (who designed the grips on pickers?), boring and the flies...

Yes but you burn more calories off doing the field and it is more of a workout

Probs also poo picking however easiest way I've found is with a rake and a skip - pulls it out the long grass easily and doesn't flick everywhere, plus it's full length so no bending down

Clipping. I hate, hate, HATE it. The lines, the hair, the clearing up ... the sore eyes ...but most of all the lines.

And did I mention the hair? And the lines?
