Leather bits...

Has any one ever used a leather bit? If so how did you get on and what was your horse like before?
Someone Has suggested for me to try a leather bit on my horse and wondered what people’s views and opinions were?

Ive tried one, I looked for ages to find a leather only bit and came across an American Forum where a lady on there kindly made me one as I couldnt find one anywhere in the UK. It didnt make any difference at all to my boy. He had a tongue issue, used to draw it back, hated tongue pressure and constantly messed despite trying pretty much everything that offered tongue relief out there. Its a good few years ago now and sadly my boy is no longer with us but I kind of learnt that with him, a simple snaffle was as good as any of the bits and hundreds of pounds I had spent.
