I’ve picked up what should be a nice handbag, but it’s filthy.
It should be green but most of it looks more like khaki.
ive given it a clean with a dishcloth, water and a few squirts of leather cleaner but it doesn’t look any better.
Any suggestions? Or do I need to learn to love khaki?
The 2nd photo gives an idea of the colour difference.

Not sure what it would cost but there are places that specialise in restoring special handbags. Might be expensive but then it is a Mulberry...

A lesser bag I would probably try really hot water, Fairy and a non-scratch scourer - at your own risk!

You could try putting it into a bag of bran (dry bran that is, not damped) and really shaking it up. They used to clean expensive fur coats this way, specially good for the shaggy ones. Otherwise I would be using soap and water, let it dry naturally and then use a good leather restorer.

If it's a genuine mulberry send it to them. They will restore it.
I work for Mulberry ?. This was in the staff rummage sale (read jumble sale with extra pointy elbows). These bags are ones that are deemed unsellable / past economic repair.
From the tags on it I believe it’s a preloved bag we’ve bought back from a customer then decided we can’t get it back to a saleable standard. Often it’s worth a punt, but hearing that this discolouration is likely to be bleaching rather than dirt I suspect it’s destined to stay khaki. Shame, it would have been a nice bag.
