Does anyone use these?
Just wanted to weigh up the pro's and con's of them, so any opinions welcome!
Thought they may be of use to my boy, who has very sensitive feet.
Thanks!

there not very often used nowadays.. plastic pads are used more often. there is also a a profuct called soleguard which is excellent for footy horses.

I use plastic pads but have now got soleguard. They enable my horse to remain in work. Without them he was unable to walk across the yard. Im thinking of switching to equipak before winter though as the mud and stones will get in under the pads.

Good luck

sorry.. when i am referring to soleguard.. i mean Equipak and Equipak cs. They are what we used to use and always called it soleguard. The Equipak CS has an antifungal propertie to prevet thrush, however for some reason this tends to fall out, even with the mesh in there.

Vettec also have a sil pak which is ideal for use if you have a horse in hospital plates or are using hoof pads, it acts as an extra cushening layer. this does not bond to the foot and therefore requires the use of a pad.

My 17hh IDx always used to have them during the summer months due to our very long stoney drive and the hard ground. She used to bruise her soles. They were brilliant, very reasonable and at the end of the summer her feet were immaculate underneath. They didn't need changing with every shoeing and weren't expensive anyway.
