Would it be okay if I use leather stirrup leathers on a wintec?
And a leather girth?
Am I best buying a leather girth or a wintec one?
(its a short girth for a jumping saddle as well! )
Thanks all :)

OH had a Wintec and used leather girth. He started with Wintec stirrup straps, but changed to leather when the eventually split. He found the leather ones easier to adjust too.

When the girth straps also split on the near side he put leather ones on there too, so the saddle when we sold it has leather girth straps on the near side and Wintec on the off side.

I know that if he had adjusted the girth equally then both would have needed replacing but the off side were suspiciously pristine. ;-)

I've only ever used leather stirrup leathers on my wintec, and a thorowgood girth. I don't think it makes a lot of difference. It's just a make. I know how a leather saddle (Funny F stamped on the flap - not a clue what it is but it fits) but weirdly use a wintec girth on it!

I have just bought a wintec and have been told fine to use leather on it but when you clean/oil leathers leave to dry before putting in saddle as it's the cleaning products which damage the synthetic not the actual leather!
