Finally I've saved enough up to buy myself a really nice pair of long (male) leather boots, which will hopefully last me if a very long time.

I have no idea where to start in terms of companies, so I was hoping people here may have some suggestions. Because I have big feet and skinny ankles I think I may have to have them specially made.

Cheers in advanced.

I can't talk about male boots as I'm female but I've got big feet, skinny ankles and short legs. I couldn' afford made to measure so I was really pleased to find Regali Ricchi by Sarm Hippique do a narrow version that are also short enough (but only just) for my little legs. They were £225 a couple of years ago.

see my regalis in a N were not small enough around the ankle , so have just bought a pair of sergios, apprently there are 47 sizes to each foot size, so find somewhere where you can go and try some on to get an idea

My ex had ariat boots for competition but he had quite small feet (9)

ETS He had some lovely regent boots for hunting that I always thought were nicer and definitely off the shelf in our local saddlery.

The boots I wear on the yard are Sarm Hippique, they zip up at the back. Although they are slightly too big at the ankle they dont look bad, I bought them off the peg at Colne Saddlery (I have size 10 feet and very narrow calfs)

I havee konigs that are made to measure but not sure if they would be appropriate for you to event in?

My leather boots are De Niro and I love them. No breaking in needed they were comfortable from the word go. They do various styles and numerous variations on sizing - I must have tried 5 or 6 pairs to get the exact right length and width. So am guessing it would be the same in mens styles. Mine came from a company called Joshua Jones and the couple that run it cannot be more helpful.

Awesome, thanks for these comments guys. Deffo want zips, and the Sarm Hippique ones look really nice, (once I had registered how to programme the site to English!) Will have a chat to Colne when they are at Gatcombe next month.

Also like Brogini. Can anyone tell me is Sergios are designed more for women?
