Hi, my horse left a small handful if feed last night and slightly bigger handful tonight. She usually eats everything in sight. I'm not over concerned to call the vet but would like a little advice. She seems ok in herself and is eating her hay as I left and She was grazing in the field when I arrived. Could it be that she was full? She is 16.2 and has 1/4 scoop hifi lite and 2 handfuls nuts twice a day. She needs maintain her weight hence why the small concentrate feed. She has 24lb hay a day.

First thoughts are whether theres been any rats/mice in her feed? The smell of them would put some horses off eating. If shes got grass in her field perhaps she doesnt want all her feed. Last thing I could think of was that the Hi Fi Lite is a bit bland, could she have Happy Hoof or Healthy Hooves instead which may be a little more appetising? Or maybe something like Apple Chaff from the Mollichaff range?

Just a few thoughts for you
