Leaving jump cups on wings

Just an observation really, but this weekend there have been a couple of threads with pix of horses jumping fences where unused cups have been left on the wings - don't wish to be boring, which is why I didn't post on the individual threads, but this is an incredibly dangerous thing to do, especially the one yesterday with the pony being lunged, so thought a little gentle reminder to anyone schooling over showjumps this week ............

I never leave them on, I had it drilled into me that it was dangerous so I naturally do it, I don't even leave them on under the pole I'm jumping. My bosses have a habit of leaving them on though, it drives me mad.
 
Oooh , one of my ' things' too !

Please remove them when not in use , preferably where they can't get trodden on as well . Rant over

Oh she can definitely come to our yard and smack them then cos a heap of the kids do this!!Abit of pain aversion therapy may work wonders

.They jump their ponies with metal cups still on! grrr!!TBH honest OH and myself got sick of going in and taking them off so now only do it when daughters jumps.
