Have any of you bright sparks fitted led lights? For Christmas I got some led lights for my vauxhall movano which my dad is going to fit. I don't want them to go off after a few minutes like the existing interior ones do, any ideas how you bypass the timer?

I just have a standard ight switch in mine, I can reach to switch it off by opening the jockey door

You cant bypass as such on that circuit as they will be linked into the main vehicle ECU and you may do untold damage trying to get past the system.

What are the lights for? How experienced is your dad ? guess not very if you are having to ask.
The most logical way is a new feed direct from the battery via an inline fuse and switch which is very straight forward that way you will avoid any other little tricks the vehicle may get up to when it goes to sleep. If the lights dont work the first time you try them swap the wires over as LED lights are polarity sensitive.

Same :) OH popped them in for me the other day. So, so bright. And bonus, the lorry doesn't grumble about starting when I've had them on. Bliss.

My lights have their own separate battery and this works really well, in my case this was done as my lorry is a bit temperamental but it also meant that installation was really straightforward

Tbh he might know but when he was talking about connecting via the interior light I got concerned as I don't want them switching off all the time.

Wire to the battery and fit an in line fuse at the battery end of the positive lead. A switch convenienly placed ,and your LED s. They draw so little current it is not worth installing a second battery . You could leave them on all day and the battery wouldnt go flat. They are much better and brighter than normal lamps. "Saf" has just fitted two to lenny the lorry. An outstanding success!
