Had to move my ponies back to their 'other place' today as farm are having a fireworks party on Monday evening.
Renting 2 different places 1 mile apart is a bit of a pain but necessary for reasons I won't bore you with!
So since owning my 2yr old Welsh Cob, she's become proficient in loading in the trailer and going up and down the road either on her own or with either of the other 2.
It was such a nice day today, and quiet on the lane, thought I give it a go at leading her up there off Rosie.
I've led her in walk and trot in the field and a bit round the farm off Rosie already, in a bridle, and all was well.
Made up some 'L plates' to stick on Rosie in the hope cars wouldn't roar up behind us.
So off we went. Just got out of the drive and a car came. Apart from a bit of a look, Lilly didn't bat an eyelid. We had a car come the other way too. Fine. The usual dog barked at us, and she saw lots of gofers (golfers!). very interested in it all, but not at all scared and extremely well behaved. Very chuffed!
Not so chuffed when I left Lilly at the yard and went back for the Shettie to find he'd broken out of the field shelter by throwing his chunky bod against the door and ripping the latch and and kick bolt off!!
So he'd been running about like a mad thing and was so puffed out Rosie and I had to wait 20mins for him to catch his breath before we could walk up the road!
