Hi

Has anyone kept a horse at Lee Valley?

I currently keep my horse on full livery in north London but the service is a bit hit miss despite paying over +£800a month... Someone told me that facilities are relatively good at Lee Valley and that they have a horse walker, (limited) turn out and good trainers on site.

I would be grateful for any views/opinions.

Hi TowerHill

I haven't kept a horse at Lee Valley but I spent lots of time there and know people who do have their horse on livery there. The facilities are reasonably good although it depends what you want from a yard.

There is a 20x40 indoor, 20x60 outdoor and another large outdoor that is usually split into two. There is a horse walker although I'm not sure how much they use it. I would say the turn out is limited to be honest, although it depends what you're used to. As far as I'm aware horses are rarely out all day and only a few days a week or not at all in winter. The stables are also quite small.

Madhector on here used to be on livery there I think so it might be worth private messaging her about it.

I have to admit I do have a soft spot for the place as I did 3 years of uni riding team training there (on the riding school horses and the odd livery).

I'd just go and have a look around and see what you think.

Thanks - I will get in touch with Madhector.

What about the area - is it safe? On ocassions I may run or take the bus rather than the car but someone said "It is a very dodgy area".

Thanks again.

I only used to get the bus there. MY friend used to cycle. I'm not sure it's the best area but I wouldn't worry about running or taking the bus to get there
