Any recomendations?

I've decided me and the boy need to get serious, so looking to have lessons twice/once a month, to keep us on track. I'm looking to do some dressage with him next year (he has previously been affliated with his ex owner), but has had 6 years off maybe :/ ... So we need an instructor who will take us back to basics, someone who is strict and willing to push both me and my boy to our limits, yet also want someone who understands that I don't want to rush it too much.

anyone know anyone?

I used to have lessons with this fab lady near Tadcaster when I lived in the area - would that be too far away for you? She has a lovely 20x60 if you want to box to her, or if you are not too far away she could come to you. She used to be the chief instructor at the YRC and has experience of all sorts of horses and riders from Olympic horses to your happy hacker. She is more the encouraging type of instructor than the screaming type and helps equally with rider position and horse's way of going. PM if you want her details.

I'm in Leds and I have regular Lessons with an amazing instructor named Lisa Lane, she' not Leeds Based (she's from Penistone) so only travels over if she has a few to teach at the same yard but she's well worth having.

I also travel over to the YRC aout once a month or once every couple of months and have lessons with Will Joyce or Jane Bartle-Wilson......Theyre very off the wall but Gd do their methods work and their lessons are so enjoyable!

Margot Tiffany is a very good flatwork instructor does a lot of dressage judging aswell, really knows her stuff she based at Northallerton Equestrian centre if this isnt to far to travel, if not she does come out for lessons. Very calm and quiet works with you to achieve what you as a rider wants to achieve and work on. Highly recomend :) xx

Sara Ussher in Harewood Estate is very good - very much about using your body and getting that right in order to get the horse using itself properly. A friend of mine also has nothing but praise for Kath Brakewell (I think is the sister or relative of Janette?) and she's had some really good results with her youngster this year since having lessons. My friend keeps her horse in North Rigton just South of Harrogate really (still a leeds postcode round there. I am not sure where Kath's based though)
