Hi
I'm looking for leg wrap recommendations to keep one of my horses' legs warm whilst stabled at night in the winter.
She has quite bad arthritis (already on bute for it).
The plan is for her to be out every day, and stabled with leg wraps at night.
She's around 16.2 or 16.3hh and middleweight (so sizing advice also welcomed).
Thanks in advance for any recommendations to help her.
:)

I made leg wraps.
You need a reasonably sturdy sewing machine, velcro for 3 or 4 fastenings per wrap, cotton gabardine or similar, an old wool blanket pre shrunk.
Cut rectangles to size plus hem. Stitch velcro to cotton. Join cotton to wool inside out with velcro tabs sticking out on the inside. Stitch on 3 sides and a bit of each end of a short side. Turn through and stitch up opening.
Washable, breathable wraps

Thanks for the ideas.
I can only find the Thermatex ones in sets of 4 - I want to try her with 2 on front first as she's a bit of a clumsy oaf with such things. :p
(I have put her to bed in a stable rug, and found her in half a rug in the morning).

I'm also not keen on magnets as there's no evidence that they do anything (other than by placebo effect in humans) so I'd rather have plain wraps.

Meredith - I love your creativity, and indeed have a very sturdy Elma the Elna sewing machine born in 1970s but I'm time poor.

Off to google the PE ones now...

Another vote for the Thermatex ones here, again with the covering on them.
They pop up on FB marketplace and ebay 2nd hand if you don’t want to fork out for a new set if she might trash them

I have Thermatex wraps and Premier Equine and prefer the PE because less sticks to them and they don’t sag. You can swap the liners out too. I’ve got plain and magnetic liners. I also use them as a travel boot as less bulky than actual travel boots.

I have premier equine leg wraps and they are brilliant, shaped well good velcro and stay in place. I have the magnetic inserts but haven’t needed to use these yet so just use the wraps I’ve had them a year and still as good as new
