I've noticed a couple of the horses on the yard are wearing leg wraps which are meant to stop mud rash.... anyone know what they are called or where I can get them?

And more importantly are they any good?

I think I have seen these in the Robinsons or Derby House catalogues. They are only good if they are a snug fit and put on a clean dry leg, otherwise any grit or mud underneath will rub into the skin and make the problem much worse.

personally I wouldn't touch them, but then there are a good many products on the market I wouldn't bother with

i have seen them in robinsons i personaly dont think they are much good and in the long run can cause extra problems if they become wet and rub or mud gets inside, howver are good for in the stable on very cold nights. x

yep the equilibrium ones are fab, I loan a horse that came to me with bad mud fever IN THE SUMMER!! coupled with Neem Oil, Atheletes Foot Talc (anti fungal ya see!) and turnout boots, we now have hair growing for the first time...

marsden, you are as bad as me for adapting chemists products - good quality dandruff shampoo also works
