Well Cloud has finally decided that Legacy can go and meet her Daddy and the rest of Cloud's herd today. I was up and went out to see them at 7am, with the camera of course

(it doesn't leave my side much at the moment).

It was so lovely to see that Cloud has recovered from her birth and is now getting herself, her foal and her herd ready for her return to the fold. Everyone was very calm and "guarding" like they always are. Golden, the palomino, has had a rough time losing her field-mate and particularly after the birth she has been desperate to be with Cloud again and of course meet the baby. Everyone seems very happy today although Golden is still keeping Ezzy at arm's length from the foal - poor guy, some things never change for him....those darned women are always keeping him in his place!

Legacy's Father is the coloured horse by the way:

Cloud is a little midget; she's 12.2hh; although we always say that she should have been a 14.2hh if she had proper-sized legs!

Ezzy is 15hh.

Not sure how big foaly is - when she was first born I thought she looked really big, or at least bigger than I expected, however now I am used to her, she isn't big at all - she's small and very very cute. I have no idea what height she will be at maturity but her legs are a nice length so hopefully she will be a bit bigger than her Mum. 13.2hh to 14.2hh would be a great size for us....but if she only makes 12.2hh then it's okay.

I just noticed Tia, you almost have you own baby with Africa on her head, like Talis!

What lovely pictures. I said to you yesterday that Cloud is a yummy A list mummy. Looks even more so today. She has pinged back into pre pregnancy shape already! Looks really happy and healthy, as does Legacy.

I am so pleased you put her in foal. I really am.

Aw what lovely pics they are

those pictures certainly tell a story and in this case, complete happiness all round x
She looks a lovely mum, very calm and in very, very good shape and of course Legacy is just so sweet.....

Tia - they look like such a happy mummy & baby! You must be so delighted that it has gone so well (apart from the waiting of course

). Certainly worth waiting for - such an adorable pair. Really pleased for you

Thanks guys. Can you tell what I've been doing all day long? Yep...looking! Again! I just can't help myself

Cloud is proving to be the most wonderful Mother - I just knew she would be, she's such a love. Legacy is just the most fabulous bundle of fun! She scoots around and gallops everywhere - Cloud is really being kept on her toes with this one.

Yes I am very pleased with Cloud - she has gone right back to how she was pre-birthing. I had hoped that this would be the case which was why she was still being ridden the whole way through; I'm sure it helps them get their figure back afterwards.

Yes I've noticed the star on Legacy's forehead - not Africa though Patches, more South America!! I think I can see PF just beside her whorl

She's a great little foal and I think Cloud has done her proud; I also think that the foal looks like she is filling out quite nicely.

The vet came last night to give Legacy her tetanus serum and he was chuckling his head of at her antics. He said he thought she was amazing and he was blown away at how good Cloud was when Legacy was getting her needle.

I'm in love

Both looking really well Tia, it's lovely that Legacy can meet the rest of her family safely now. Will she and Cloud be going out with the others when they are ready?
fascinated by your photos, assuming they are taken from more or less the same place the barn and the house seem so far away in one shot, and yet much closer in another, and Evie thinks the baby is beautiful, but pointed out that Ezzy has antlers!

Ah that's not my house and barn - that's my neighbours. My house is right next to the paddock that Cloud is in......right across the drive from this field.

Yes Cloud will be going back in with her herd eventually - not for a few weeks though and certainly not until I am convinced that Golden is just wanting to be around Cloud and is not trying to steal the foal......

I'm sure that baby is growing overnight! She seems so much bigger this morning - Cloud appears to be doing a great job.
