Well our little baby Legacy will be 8 weeks old tomorrow!! 8 weeks! Seems like we have had our little treasure for so much longer.

Cloud, her mother, has been ridden for the past week or so and is starting to get back into the swing of things again. Legacy has remained in the field for this time......however today I decided that it was time for her to meet the big world outside. She was wonderful - bless her little socks.

First we went past the big tractor and the balers, haybine and all the hay wagons - she didn't bat an eyelid and walked out like a professional.

Then we wandered on down to the sand ring and Legacy had a good look around at everything and she thought the sand was just the best stuff she'd ever seen:

She doesn't look very happy in this picture - not sure why though.

Then we went down to the big showjumping arena which has just been cut for hay. We found a really exciting huge bundle of hay to play in!

Then we had to move as a big red beastie came along and swallowed up our great big pile of hay:

So all in all it was a fun time had by me and Legacy. I then took her back up to her field passing all of the farm machinery and the noisy baler and she didn't care AT ALL. She was a little star.

Thank you so much for the update pictures Tia! I've been really looking forward to seeing them all day.

Isn't she just adorable? She has a horsey head doesn't she...not a pony one. Very refined. I love her. Isn't she big now too? I bet she has to stoop to suckle from Cloud.

Isn't it interesting seeing how her colouring is changing already? I love the black strip of new growth in her mane. She's going to be a stunner, just like her parents.

To be honest, I think she is going to be smaller than I thought. I think she might make 13hh so she's going to be a tiddler I believe. One day I will get the string out and see what it says LOL!! Mum is 12.2hh and Dad is 15hh......so one things for sure, she'll be somewhere in the middle.

Mum is a ConnemaraX and Daddy is a reg. Paint, which is basically a coloured Quarter Horse.....hence the enormous bum! I am soooo happy that Legacy has the QH bottom as I love them!

We had an amazing adventure. Meg was riding Cloud so she came down with me but then she beggared off and was riding around and up the hill and Legacy was not bothered in the slightest. She is such a confident little soul. Nothing scares her at all and she really is a treat to lead out.

Can you tell I absolutely adore her?

You know Patches; this is going to sound really stupid and strange.....but until I saw those photos, to me she hadn't changed any, apart from the colour......but you are absolutely right; she DOES have a horse head. I've just been out with her again and I was looking and she doesn't look pony at all.

Her colouring is so much more in your face in real life - yet again the photos don't really show you how grey she is because of the few long wispy orange strands....but she really is incredibly grey now in real life.

I told you - I'm totally besotted with this little filly.

Oh we really are so lucky with weather over here - it's gorgeous right now! Lovely and hot through the days and cool at night...perfect! The one thing about here is that no matter what the temperature outside may be - the sun shines and there are blue skies almost every single day of the year and I love it!

She is so beautiful! Thanks for posting the pictures - can definitely see the grey coming through! Not surprised that she didn't bat an eyelid at anything - bless her

Might have to get parents to put her in their suitcase when they go out there! BTW - I got it wrong - they are going to the rockie mountains, Calgary, Vancouver & Banff - don't know if that is near your region - Canada is so vast!

Thanks again for the photos - looking forward to the next installment already!

Ahh then they are going to the "nice" part of Canada!! The scenery there is what you see on postcards from Canada - truly spectacular! Not like around here LOL!!

She is very very grey in real life - camera keeps taking in the longer chestnut hairs but once the Summer gets going proper then I am expecting these to all fall out and by end of Summer I would think she will be fully grey.

She really is a super little thing - absolutely nothing at all fazes her. Even when her pile of hay was being swallowed up right next to her, I just calmly led her away and she came with no fuss whatsoever.....and her Mummy was way across the arena from us and still she didn't care.

I think she is going to be easy-peasy to back! She sounds more bombproof than my 8-y-o - he freaked out when I moved the electric fencing unit yesterday!

Can't wait to see her fully grey - she truly is a little stunner!

The pic in your sig is beautiful - spectacular in my eyes, but then I live in London during the week

That's because my farm is the prettiest farm in Ontario!!

With regards to being bombproof, don't forget we are a working hay farm, therefore all of our horses are used to every sort of weird machinery; they don't care about noise as they are totally used to it.

They love the big tractor as it is the "big blue feeding machine"!

She's coming in a very light grey isn't she. I was actually expecting her to be darker.

She isn't really very big - or not to me anyway - mind you I see her every day so yes I expect she has grown a lot when you don't see her as frequently as me.

Ooooh!! just a couple of days!! Bet Teazle is going to be 6 days late.

Are you sure she's not coloured?!!! Her face looks bay and her body grey...in fact she looks like she could be a bay roan to me..or is it the photo's...?

LOL!! I'm not sure about anything to be honest.

Her dad, as you know, is a tricoloured bay roan Paint, but from all the questions I asked on here, it seems that she likely will be just grey because had she been going to be coloured like him, she should have been born coloured, from what I was told. Well she wasn't - she was born a solid colour; which I guess implies that she will be a solid colour on shedding her baby orange fluff.

Mind you her head and her mane and tail and her dorsal stripe are weird - they are jet black under the orangeness; well apart from her tail which is grey and black.

See, I'm as confused as you LOL!!

Ach, time will tell.
