Legendary dealer Tom Smith Dead

Yes he certainly was a legend....i´ve known Tom and his family for many years...it still hasn´t registered with anyone that he has gone...but he will live on forever with his children, grand children, his knowledge and teachings with regard to horses, he´was a unique, caring and generous man and certainly touched the life´s of all who knew him...R.I.P. I knew Tom for over 40 years. When I started in business aged 19 he helped me with the ponies to start my riding school. They say listen to the people who are already succesful. I listened he was my friend and mentor. God bless you Tom.

As to his family's endless hospitality : Well, so many of us got so close to running The Drink-Drive Gauntlet ( WE just knew when to stop )

Tom was a legend. What he didn't know about horsemanship isn't worth knowing. He had a heart of gold and lived for his family, his farm and his horses. He will be missed by so many people. I have so much to thank him for, I wouldn't know where to begin.

RIP Tom

Yes! he was a legend. I can remember him supplying horses to people over 40 years ago in the North London and South Hertfordshire area including many of the traditional riding schools that wheer about at that ime. Nearly everyone I knew had bought a horse or horses from him at some time or other. The last time I saw Tom was a little while ago at the old Cambridge Horse Sales and he was his happy usual self. He will be missed by so many people. Rest in peace Tom.
