My legs are different lengths - i have had so much contradicting advice i thought i would ask for some more! :p

How shall i deal with this with my horses back being of upmost importance - do i have my stirrup leathers the same lengths and wonky legs
or wonky lethers and same length legs??

your thoughts :)

I have wonky legs too! If i ride with the same length stirrups i get a really bad cramp in my hip so have to ride a hole longer on the right hand side but it looks like my stirrups are level. Never seems to have bothered any of my horses and i've done all sorts over the last twenty years :)

I would suggest 2 things, firstly it could be that you have a wonky pelvis which is making your legs appear to be different lengths and that would need looking at by a physio type person. And the other thing is to ride with no stirrups if the horse is safe enough even if its just in walk so you can make sure you are straight in the saddle and stretch your legs down without tensing and gripping and then after 10 mins or so just wriggle your ankles to get your toe into the stirrups so you will know if you have to lift one leg and not the other that you were riding wonky.

personally i would say have the leathers the right length for your legs, as then you can sit straight in the saddle and your weight will be distributed evenly. having matching leathers and your legs wonky may cause you to sit to one side
