My beast cut he heel and I mean proper gash type cut. Couldn't be stitched because vet felt stitches would burst as she walked. So was bandaged. Then became infected, whole leg ballooned and was hot had two week course of anti-b's and responded well, swelling went. Cut has now heeled to the stage where it doesn't need dressing but when the leg bandage came off the leg ballooned again - put this down to the fact it had been bandaged for about 8 weeks. It slowly went down over about 5 days and is now normal size but round her fetlock it is still a bit fat. Doesn't seem painful and no heat at all. Not lame and is walking well. Do you think the fetlock will go down on its own?
