I have a 70 amp Halfords 12V leisure battery to power my elctric fence but my standard car battery charger doesn't seem to touch it and my solar charger helps to keep it going but doesn't charge from run down. My neighbour's heavy duty charger does it fine but can't keep borrowing theirs and the choice is mind blowing, help!

Sounds like your battery is knackered. Did you know that if you let a lead /acid battery get realy low on charge in this weather, it freezes and that is the end of it ,immediately!

I agree probably knackered- even leisure batteries don't always seem to last that long. Apparently they should never be left on concrete either..

I have a Halfords 70amp leisure battery for my 12v energiser. I've had it 4years now and its still ok, mind you when I bought my new energiser last year I need to charge the battery every week.
