Hi,
So recently I have fallen in love with the LeMieux CC/jumping saddlecloths, but have found out that they only come in size large!! :( I have a 14.1hh Connie who takes 5'6/9 in rugs, and am getting a new saddle that is probably going to be a 17".. Will I find that they look huge or will they fit? Also, if they do fit.. What colour should I go for (first)?! 😄

I have a large under my 17" saddle and looks fine.
Also, would advise maybe borrowing one from someone, as I find it rubs my horse, so I only use them on special occasions not for everyday.

I have a medium dressage and it's too small under my 17" saddle even though that's the one they recommended, so I'd go large.

Likewise, I have a 15.1 who seems to be between sizes in everything. She has a 17" saddle and I didn't think twice about ordering the large saddlecloth, but it looks ridiculous on her. It looks more like her exercise blanket shrunk than a saddlecloth :(

I have the mustard, the burton blue and a grey one, 14.1hh Winnie wearing the mustard one

Have you looked at horse health website. They do some of the colours in a medium. It is worth shopping around. I have a short backed 14.2 and the medium for him fine xx

I use the CC (3d air mesh style) and the GP (sheepskin) ones on my 17" VSD saddle and 5'9 pony :). Numnahs not squares though.

Le mieux comes up quite long on Millie even though she can only take a full. Eskadron and Waldheusen offer other sizes if you're looking for that kind of style.

Are the saddle cloths quite thin? As in normal width not the big chunky kind? I want to get my horse one to match his boots but I prefer using a thinner one in summer as he sweats too much with a thick one currently.

I am very disappointed with my saddle cloth. It is the burnt orange one and it looks spectacular on my palomino, but the binding has rubbed her so she now has two lines down each side of her. Also when it was washed it seems impossible to get her hairs off it as they have weaved their way into the lining!

I just bought one of the large GP square ones at the weekend and it's generous enough below the saddle (17" GP saddle), but doesn't get in the way. I'd imagine the shaped CC ones are not as deep. I'll try get a picture for you tomorrow.

I accidentally ordered medium dressage squares, and they are tiny, more like pony size (and despite me having a pony, they are too small for her 17in dressage saddle. Unfortunately I had them delivered direct to the embroiderers, so I lost almost £200 between the squares, embroidering and postage.

I have also found mine rubs across the back. I've washed it a couple of times to see if it was just because it was a little new and stiff but still seems to be happening

They are pony size, I spoke to horse health and they confirmed pony and medium are the same size.

Would have been helpful if they could state that on the website *sigh* the entries for both full and medium are identical, except for the medium saying "medium" and I didn't see it :( Why not have a size drop down selection like almost every other site *sigh again*

I felt very bitter about it at the time, as the embroiderer did a fantastic job.

Assuming it was a dressage cloth you purchase. Sorry I should have stated that.

When comparing the sizes pony/medium are the same for the dressage cloths. It took me to order one and realise how small it was and then discussed with Hopevalley and horse health who make Lemieux. Why they don't make pony, cob and full I do not know.
