Within a week, both of my ancient rambo rugs have died. Both were old and felt like they’d go on forever; the oldest of the two was over 20 years old.

So a new turnout is needed and I’m looking at a lemieux rather than another rambo. (My huge necked horse needs the angled front fastenings or he is garrotted every time he tries to graze, so no other brand suggestions please)

How have people found them? Do they last well and keep out this relentless rain we are having? Horse lives out 24/7 so needs to keep him warm and dry

Also, is the liner fitting the same as rambo? I have a large selection of liners and don’t want to buy more so will go back to rambo if I can’t use the liners I already have

Not a huge help sorry but my friend bought one from YHL on Sunday and its really smart. First time I'd seen one in reality. Horse pretty much lives in so can't comment on the water proofness!

Another that's not a great help bit a friend has one and rates it. She normally only has Rambos too.

She did have bother with a liner as the loops were out of place. But I'm guessing that's a one off blip

i don’t have a turnout rug from them so can’t comment on that, but i’ve found their stable rug to be pretty rubbish quality tbh. it’s also definitely not designed to be on a chunky welsh🤣

i have the 200gm stable rugs on 2 x welsh stallions, so big shouldered and big crests and they fit great

I highly recommend The Big Horse Shop broad fit rugs. Brilliant for my big shouldered horses. For me better than the rambos.and they can have the liner system and I have used other liners, the wb 100g, with it no problem

Agree the liners are interchangeable. I was disappointed with the quality. I bought 0g, 50gm, 200gm and used all three over one winter. By spring both the 0gm and the 50gm were leaking. Waterproofing them has not helped. Expensive for less that six months of being waterproof.

I would be very suspicious of the long term quality of Lemieux turnout rugs, I dont find their headcollars / branded products particularly durable. Though their prosorb saddle cloths have lasted me years!

I really rate the LM turnout rugs. They fit super and don’t rub. All a year old and no leaks etc. I will say that the 200g has taken a beating compared to the other ones for some reason. But the 0g 100g 300g look brand new.

On particularly gross data I have a very old no fill I put on top which saves my actual rugs taking a beating and me having to replace expensive items more often.

I just got a 100g in the Hope Valley sale. Quality looks good for the £100 I paid but unfortunate that they put the liner loops in a different position on the neck line to all other makes. I suspect intentional to have those that are not good with a needle and thread buying their own to fit!

For anyone considering I'd say the fit and depth is pretty generous as it is far to deep for the finer of my two boys.

You don't need to use the neck loops for liners, I never do.
