Help I am on the market for some new stirrups and can’t decide between the Lemieux Vectors and Acavello Aluplus… I’ve read tons of reviews but wanted opinions …

I mainly do dressage on a generally well behaved chap. I don’t have any joint or mobility issues (yet) so am looking for the stirrup that will help me the most in terms of leg position. I currently ride in a pair of free jumps which I like but I swear they are making my toes turn out 😂 and they are also bright blue so getting some new stirrups for my bday.

Ive got the lemieux vectors pretty decent wearing well but cant say for whether its improved my leg position though have had a few compliments on my lower leg recently bought so my knees don't hurt on long hacks - which has been successful compared to basic styles though do stand on the plastic catch bit sometimes if my foot moves/ first putting foot in.. Ive only paired with basic stirrup leathers

I have the LeMieux. I’m very very happy with them! I have them on both of my saddles. I bought them because I couldn’t justify the expense of the flex-on safety stirrups and having ridden in both, I can confirm they are pretty much the same stirrup.

We have the vector balance for my daughter (age 9 so does come off a fair bit!) they are fab! We had the acavello ones but never used them as they felt cheap and they didn’t open easily! I returned them and got the le mieux instead.

We also used the tech stirrups for a few weeks..: they were so heavy and clunky I didn’t like them at all! The Le Mieux ones are our favourite x

I'm really wary of a lot of these mechanisms, they do seem to fail now and again - not a model you're looking at but still https://www.facebook.com/groups/398...181&hoisted_section_header_type=recently_seen, in this case it looks like the non-release mechanism side has blown, but I think there are weaknesses in many designs. I like the simpler Safestyle stirrups, but like any design won't suit everyone.
I think that might be why they brought out the Acavallo AluPlus Stirrup which is marketed as a safer version. Has anyone heard of the Acavallo AluPlus Stirrup fail versus the older Acavallo Arena Alupro Stirrups fail? There seem to be cases of Acavallo Arena Alupro Stirrups failing but not Acavallo AluPlus Stirrup.

I have the Acavallo AluPlus & can honestly say they saved me from being pinned under my horse. He slipped & fell on his side whilst trotting on the road & I can clearly remember them both clicking to release my feet & I was thrown clear. I'm convinced my normal stirrups would have resulted in me going down too & my leg being trapped.

They've also flung me clear with a fall in a school, again hearing them click to release rather than me being dragged.

I’m glad you’re ok. The slip on the road is very scary!

I have just ditched my LeMieux stirrups as I didn't like the tilted footbed. Can anyone confirm whether the Acavallo Alu (not the Aluplus) has a tilted footbed? I like the look of them as a replacement but don't want to make the same mistake.

I have the Alupros (cheaper ones compared to the Aluplus!) and the footbed is not tilted
