Ahh I feel your pain, for the last few years it's all my youngest has wanted. I swear I never knew so many shades of blue existed.
She's now 14 and finally over it, my first Lemieux- free Christmas for what seems like a lifetime 😂

Hope Valley Saddlery does 25 days of Christmas deals and they tend to have excellent deals on LeMieux - you wont know what is on sale until the day they pick though!

Ugh I can relate with my 9yr old! I’ve started getting all her sets second hand on Vinted, eBay and FB marketplace and there are LOTS of LM pages on facebook, you’ll easily find what you want on there!

I don't have kids but remember so wanting certain things that were the in thing so I think your only a kid once just get them what they want in moderation and what you can afford.

I think its a bit mean saying no just because you don't like it or agree with it.

Yes I agree. My kids don’t have lots of things (screens video games etc) but they do really enjoy their ponies and they do like ‘in’ things for them, like all kids have done throughout time!

They’ve asked for a star rug, a matchy set and a toy pony. They are all things they will genuinely use and play with often, so even though Lemieux isn’t my favourite company I don’t really *mind* as such (show me a person who only buys from completely moral companies..!) it’s just the expense when you’ve got multiple kids 🙈🙈

Anyway Hope Valley have 20% off absolutely everything today so I’ve bought the lot there 👍 which has helped a bit!!

I mean what’s the alternative? They’re good kids who don’t ask for much. Should I give them a brown cottage craft numnah, a red and black quartered rugby shirt and a rubber curry comb each and tell them to like it or lump it??

I must be a ‘mean’ Mum then by some standards on here. There was never the expectation that my daughter would get everything that was on her Christmas list. It helped that we had the family tradition that Father Christmas brought the Christmas stockings and she knew that all other presents were from us or other family members. It didn’t mean she didn’t get any nice presents but what she got was dictated by what funds were available at the time. So perhaps choosing the item which we thought was most likely to give enjoyment for a long time, rather than things that would be tossed aside quickly. And sometimes there are cheaper alternatives that will give as much fun as the big brand names at a lower cost. My daughter never felt deprived and actually she feels more sorry for her boyfriend who always got the ‘big ticket’ items but never had the fun of receiving a Christmas stocking!

Glad you found it all at a discount!

My two get a budget for birthdays/Xmas. They can choose pretty much whatever they like and can combine it with money from grandparents plus pocket money they have earned if they wish. Took both of them combining absolutely every penny they had to get what they wanted for their birthdays (Switch plus a game). They are however now well aware of the price of the thing and are treating it appropriately!

That sounds like a very clever strategy!

In terms of numnahs and pads (generally rather than to you @Patterdale), go off to a Mattes stockist and order exactly the colourway you want - tens of quilt colours including velvets, then add one of about 30 piping colours, more than 50 bindings, and about 40 sheepskins if you want a lining or trim. Much better to have one pad in colours you love than always needing to get seasonal colours....even better quality and not far off in price.
